Easter Activities for the Classroom
Easter is one of the best spring holidays in my opinion. First, I love spring it is my favorite season. However, I live in California so our spring lasts about two days, and then it is just super hot. My husband’s birthday is around Easter as well so overall it is just a great time of the year. There are also plenty of great easter activities for the classroom that I definitely pull out at this time of year.
Easter Activities for the Classroom #1 Easter Stem Activities
Easter is pretty much the most perfect holiday to do stem activities for. An egg which is normally associated with Easter is fragile and therefore there are so many stem activities where students can apply different methods to protect the egg as it is put through a number of tasks. Some ideas for Easter stem activities are listed below.
Egg drop
The most common STEM activity in all history seems to be the egg drop challenge. This is a challenge that all of us have probably done ourselves in some shape or form. The basic premise is that students have to protect an egg using different elements. You can tell them they can only use certain objects, or that it has to be within the confines of a box, etc. Students egg drops then have to make it through a series of tests. Usually, the first one is it is dropped from like 1 foot. The next is like from 5 feet. Then from 10 feet and I had a teacher who made the last step throwing it as hard as they could against the wall. Eggs are inspected after each step and if they are broken they are now out of the competition. The student or students whose eggs make it all the way through win.
Egg Boat
Another great STEM Easter activity is an egg boat. Basically, this one is that students have to make a boat that supports the weight of the egg using a set material: paper, popsicle sticks, styrofoam, balloons etc. The point is to successfully make your egg float. This will result in a lot of problem-solving and probably a lot of failures along the way. However, students will learn how to problem solve and to try try again.
Egg Obstacle Course
Another great STEM activity for Easter is an egg obstacle course. This would be combined with an egg roll. Students will have to roll an egg through a series of obstacles of your choosing. You can make them cross a bridge have a little drop etc. The point is to make sure that their egg survives. They can test out their obstacle course several times before the final attempt where the whole class will see if their egg survives. Overall, this is just a fun easter activity that will get your students thinking and problem-solving.
Easter Activities for the Classroom #2 Easter Crafts
Another one of the great Easter activities for the classroom is Easter crafts. There are so many different ones that you can do but I am going to focus on two of my favorites below.
Egg Dying
The best easter craft in my opinion is egg dying this is by far the most Easter thing that you can do in my mind. If you are working with students at school, I found one of the best ways to dye eggs is to have students color on the eggs with crayons. You can use the fancy clear ones that come in different egg kits or you can just have them draw designs with normal crayons. It is just as much fun even with normal crayons You then can have them come back to the dying table and you can help them with dying their eggs. Since some students will take less time drawing on their eggs and others will take more time then you should not have a mob of all of them at the dying table at one time. Then students can dye the eggs, with your help. Overall, the students will love to see what happens when you dip the eggs in certain colors and it is fun to see what the kids decide to draw on their eggs.
I did egg dying with a group of college students that were learning about American culture in an English as a second language class and it was so fun to see the different designs they decided to draw on their eggs.
Coloring Pages
Another great Easter craft is Easter coloring pages. Coloring pages in general are great as mindful coloring in the classroom as transition activities, or as an activity for early finishers. They are also great for parties. If you are having and Easter party these are a must. As a bonus, Easter coloring pages can just be a really fun thing for you to destress and relax after a hard day of working with kids. Luckily, for you you don’t have to go looking for coloring pages or even pay anything. I have created Easter coloring pages for my subscribers. Best of all they are free. Easter Activities for the Classroom #3 Easter Themed Reading
Easter themed reading is another one of the great Easter activities for the classroom. One of the books that I love to read with my upper level elementary school students is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Edward Tulane is a ceramic rabbit that goes on a great adventure to basically learn what it means to love and be loved. I have created a great digital reading comprehension activity to go along with the book. It will have students practicing their prediction skills and looking at foreshadowing and patterns in the text. Also, its great because all the comprehension work for the whole book is done for you. This means more time for you to focus on your own items.

Easter Activities for the Classroom #4 Build a Bunny Double Digit Multiplication Activity
Another great Easter activity for the classroom is my build a bunny double digit multiplication activity. Are you wondering how to teach double-digit multiplication to 4th graders? Does double-digit multiplication have your students down? Do you want an Easter activity that will help students review multiplication before Spring Break. This 4th-grade Easter double-digit multiplication practice will have students wishing for more. This fourth-grade Easter math activity is perfect to make sure your students have the foundations of double-digit multiplication. It is a fun 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication game on boom cards. Boom cards are great for math centers, distance learning, and homework.
As a teacher, who is wondering how to teach double-digit multiplication to 4th graders, you probably want something that is easy for you. This is one of many double-digit multiplication games, but this one is Boom Cards. This means it is super easy for you to assign this math activity and to monitor your 4th grader’s progress on this double-digit multiplication game. You can either create a classroom and assign a fun math activity to your students. You can also assign a fast pin for students to do the activity without a boom account. Students will get direct feedback so you will not have to grade this assignment. Therefore this is the perfect way to learn how to teach double-digit multiplication to 4th graders.
What is even more amazing is once your students complete three double-digit multiplication problems they will be able to build their very own bunny. There are four chances to build a bunny and 12 double-digit multiplication problems. These will have your fourth graders doing double-digit multiplication with ease.
Plus it is a one of the great easter activities for the classroom that I make sure to do with my students every year. They love it. Truthfully, they love all my build-a- products. The brain break that they get in the middle by building some bunnies is so helpful. If you want a cross curriculum idea you can even have your students write a story about the bunnies that they make.
Easter Activities for the Classroom #5 Easter Multiplication Drills
The last one of my Easter activities for the classroom is my Easter Multiplication drills. I do so many multiplication drills with my students because multiplication is one of those things in my mind that you cannot practice enough. With multiplication practice makes perfect.
Easter is right around the corner and your students will have so much fun with these multiplication drills. Have your students practice their multiplication drills for 1-12. After, your students have practiced these decks they will know their multiplication drills from 1×1- 12×12. This is a comprehensive deck of multiplication drills that is perfect for Easter. This will have 3rd and 4th graders engaged and jumping for joy. This bundle will allow you to have students at different levels practicing multiplication at the same time. This makes it easy for you to differentiate while making sure that your students get to practice.I have created a bundle of these drills. You can also buy the multiplication drills individualy if you like.
I hope that you enjoy all these activities and have the best Easter with your students. There are so many great activities here that you can do them the whole month of April. If you enjoyed this post I hope that you will share it so that others can benefit as well.
