Christmas Activities for School #1 Build-A-Christmas Character Boom Cards
The first activity that I use with my students in the month of December is Build-a-Christmas Character Boom Cards. This is such a fun and festive activity that gets students engaged and excited about Christmas. Plus, it’s a great way to review Double-digit multiplication or long division! In these digital activities, students will answer 12 double-digit multiplication or long division problems. Once they are done answering 3 problems they will get a chance to build a Santa, a Reindeer, or an Elf. They will have 4 different chances throughout an activity to build a character. A great cross-curriculum idea is to have students write stories about the characters that they built. That way you are hitting math concepts and writing concepts with the same activity.

Christmas Activities for School #2 Christmas Multiplication Drills
Multiplication skills are something that should be practiced all throughout the school year so students really have them mastered by the time they get to upper grades. Christmas is a great time to sneak in some multiplication fluency practice with these Christmas Multiplication Drills. These multiplication drills are no prep and can be used for morning work, math centers, or even homework. The Christmas theme is just an added bonus that will help keep students engaged while they are doing their multiplication practice. These Christmas multiplication drills are on Boom Learning and Easel by TPT. They are fully digital and you can see data on how your students are doing to see what they need more practice on.

Christmas Activities for School #3 Christmas Coloring Pages
Christmas coloring pages are so nice to have in your classroom during the month of December. They are a great way to calm students down after lunch or recess. Christmas is such a hectic time of year and sometimes students just need a break to calm their bodies and minds. Christmas coloring pages are also great for indoor recess on those days when it’s too cold or wet to go outside. I like to put mine in plastic sheet protectors this way students can also use them over and over again and you don’t have to be printing hundreds of them over the month of December. I also love to use them for Christmas parties and as something that kids can do.
I have a set of free Christmas coloring pages that are available to my loyal email subscribers. If you would like to grab them click on the image below to sign up for my email list and a set will be sent to you.
Christmas Activities for School #4 Christmas Ornaments
During Christmas time it is fun to decorate your room and if you have a tree in your classroom it is fun for your students to make ornaments for the tree. This is a great activity for Christmas parties or even just a regular day in the classroom. All you need for this activity is some paper, scissors, and crayons or markers. I like to do this activity with my students before Christmas break so they can take their ornaments home to put on their own trees.
You can also make this activity for academics by having a creative writing prompt on ornaments, having the kids draw geometric designs on the ornaments, or just using these ornament decorating as an art lesson. You can have the students decorate their ornaments in the style of an artist that they are learning about in art class.

Christmas Activities for School #5 Decorating Christmas Cookies
One fun activity that you can incorporate into your class during the month of December is decorating Christmas cookies. This is a great activity for Christmas parties or as a treat for your students. You can make the cookies ahead of time or have the students help you make them.
To decorate the cookies you will need some icing, sprinkles, and Christmas cookie cutters. I like to use these Christmas Cookie Cutters from Wilton. They are a perfect size and would let students pick what shape they want. To use this cookie-cutter idea just make sheets of solid cookie dough and students will use their cookie cutter to cut out their shape.
This is the perfect last day of school before the Christmas break activity. After kids make their cookies they can eat them possibly with hot chocolate and watch a Christmas movie. This also makes the last day fun for you.
Christmas Activities for School # 6 Making Christmas Gift books for your parents
One activity that you can incorporate into your classroom in December is making fun gifts that students can give to their family members. This allows them to have something to give to their parents but it could also help them work on their writing skills.
I have seen Christmas gift books where students draw pictures and then write about them, Christmas Coupon books, Christmas memory books, and Christmas coloring books. These are all great ideas that would make wonderful gifts for parents.
When I was in the 7th grade my teacher had us make a book like this and one of the pages was dedicated to the impossible gifts that we would get our parents if we could. I remember at the time I asked for a car for my mom that would turn the lights off automatically and that would not lock keys inside the car because that was something that was happening to her at the time. This is funny because cars like this exist now but I thought it was impossible back then. My mom really enjoyed the impossible gifts that I would give her though.
I hope that these Christmas activities for school have given you some ideas of ways to make your classroom festive and fun in December. Do you have a favorite Christmas activity that you do in your classroom? I would love to hear about it in the comments below. Also, if you enjoyed this post please consider sharing it.
Merry Christmas!
